In 2017 last year Asus launched the Asus N552VX series laptop. This laptop brand which targets the middle to upper market, targets customers who use laptops for gaming and multimedia. If we take a quick look at the specifications of this laptop, this 14 million price seems worth offering. With a sixth generation Intel processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M and 8GB DDR4 RAM, of course, this price is very attractive. But does the performance of this laptop match the specifications? Design

In general, the thickness of the Asus N552VX laptop is almost the same compared to its predecessors such as the Asus N551JK-CN166H. However, the black color on the bottom of the laptop makes the impression that this laptop is thinner than the actual size. This laptop body is made of plastic and aluminum. The top of the laptop and the cover made of aluminum makes this laptop not easily dirty with our fingerprints and easy to clean. For the bottom of this laptop, Asus unfortunately didn’t design it to be made of aluminum and only used plastic. But the advantages of using this plastic make the bottom of this laptop stable and sturdy when used for typing.

This Asus N552VX laptop measures 383 x 260 x 29.9 mm and weighs 2.53 kg. Maybe for those of you who often travel with a laptop, the weight and size of this laptop will be a drawback. But seen from the quality of the material that is sturdy, strong and a design that prevents scratches on the laptop body, this Asus N552VX laptop has its own advantages in terms of portability.

In my opinion, in terms of design this laptop can be said to be very good and elegant with a body that is mostly made of aluminum giving a premium impression. The first thing that comes to my mind when I see this laptp design is its similarity to the design of Mac laptops. But the difference will be seen once you try to open this laptop with one hand. If in general a Mac laptop can be opened with one hand, unfortunately for the Asus N552VX laptop, it is a bit difficult to open with one hand. Maybe this is a small thing for some people, but of course this is something to consider for those of you who prioritize comfort and ease of using a laptop.

This Asus N552VX laptop has a 15.6 inch screen size with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. With the screen specifications on this laptop, you will be able to enjoy a full HD 1080p experience with this laptop without having to connect it to your TV. This laptop screen is suitable for use outdoors and in rooms with high light intensity. This is because on this laptop screen a matte finish is used which will prevent reflections on your screen. Unlike the glossy screen laptops that reflect light in bright places, this laptop screen you will comfortably use outdoors. However, the drawback of this screen is that the color of the screen will appear darker than the glossy screen. For connectivity problems with USB, this Asus N552VX laptop can be said to meet my standards and expectations of this laptop with a price of 14 million. Indeed, this laptop is not equipped with a USB 3.1 Type C port which will make it easier for you to charge your smartphone, but with 3 USB 3.0 ports on this laptop it is enough for data transfer needs. For the display port, this laptop offers HDMI connectivity which has now become the standard display port for the latest devices. But of course for those of you who still use a lot of devices with a VGA display port, this is a drawback because you have to buy a converter. This Asus N552VX laptop is also equipped with a DVD Driver which is suitable for employees or students who often need to save documents on CD or DVD.

One thing that is the most striking drawback of this laptop connectivity is the problem of port arrangement. On this laptop the port is placed next to the middle of the laptop body which will be annoying if you use this laptop to type while connected to USB or HDMI. In addition, the relatively close distance between the ports makes it difficult for you to connect 2 large flash drives to your laptop.

For the game Rise of the Tomb Raider, for example, this laptop is only capable of producing a frame rate of 21 fps. However, if you use the medium setting, this laptop is capable of producing a fram speed of 35 fps. But you don’t need to worry, for games output 2015 and below this laptop can be used at high settings.

One thing that this laptop lacks is battery life. It can be said that this laptop is a versatile laptop but can only last for a while when compared to similar laptops. So you may need to always carry a charger if you want to take this laptop on your trip.
