Asus, as one of the laptop brands in Indonesia, targets various market segments from the middle to lower class to heavy gamers. In the middle of last year Asus launched a thin laptop with tough performance for the middle and upper class, namely the Asus X302UJ-FN017D. As we know, the Asus X series laptop is a laptop that is indeed targeted at the premium at a price that is actually still arguably cheap. For the Asus X302UJ-FN017Dini laptop, the price offered is around 7 million. But is it true that at the price of only 7 million, we can get a good laptop for everyday use and gaming? Design

The design of this Asus laptop series can be summed up in 2 words, namely elegant and thin. Yes, this Asus X302UJ-FN017D laptop has major advantages in terms of design in the form of a thin size. This of course will make your mobility easier for those of you who often travel with a laptop. This laptop is certainly lighter when compared to standard laptops such as the Acer Aspire E5-473. However, if this laptop is compared to its competitors who both feature the thinness and lightness of the laptop body such as the Acer Aspire S5-371-58UX, this laptop is still quite thick and heavy. This laptop has 328 x 234 x 25.6 mm and weighs 1.59 kg which is different about 1 cm thick and weighs about 0.2 kg with its competitors. But with this laptop weighing only 1.59 kg, this laptop is enough to reduce the burden of your bag that is always carried everywhere.

Another advantage of this laptop is the elegant color design and physical body of the laptop with the lack of accessories and the placement of the Asus logo that is pleasing to the eye. The body of this laptop is designed to minimize scratches on your laptop cover. So even though you still have to be careful in using this laptop, you will be calmer if you carry this laptop everywhere when you travel. Coupled with the sturdy body of this laptop, your comfort in using this laptop is complete.

Keyboard and Touchpad

Like other Asus X series laptops, the keyboard design of this laptop is very ergonomic and has a good palm rest. When we hear dedicated graphics cards, the first thing we think of is the waste of resources it requires. However, with the Optimus technology from the Nvidia GeForce GT920M, resource consumption can be optimized without reducing performance. In addition, the existence of PhysX and CUDA on this graphic card allows you to play games with middle to upper graphical needs. But keep in mind that to play the latest games, you need to adjust your game settings.

Processor

The processor planted on this laptop is an Intel® Core ™ i5-6200U with a clock speed of 2.8 GHz. This processor is the sixth generation from Intel with the name Skylake. When compared to the previous generation, namely Broadwell, this processor is slightly larger but consumes less power. For those of you who follow the development of Intel processors, you will know that soon Intel will release its ninth generation. So that the processor on this laptop can be said to be outdated soon. However, when viewed from its usefulness, the Intel® Core ™ i5-6200U is sufficient to meet daily needs even for gaming with medium settings. This processor can actually be classified as quite sophisticated with the presence of Turbo Boost 2.0 technology. This technology allows optimization of the power usage of the laptop by increasing the processor clockspeed when large resources are needed.

Asus X302UJ-FN017D performance

The performance of this laptop is arguably pretty good for gaming and graphic design that is not too heavy. Indeed, the presence of the Nvidia GeForce GT920M on this laptop can ease the work of the processor in processing graphics. But keep in mind that the base clockspeed of the Intel® Core ™ i5-6200U is 2.3 Ghz. Yes, with Turbo Boost 2.0 technology, this processor can increase the frequency to 2.8 GHz. However, increasing this frequency will consume more resources and cause the laptop to heat up quickly. Therefore, if you want to use it to play the latest games, you should use the medium setting and not the maximum setting.

In addition, this laptop is not equipped with an SSD. So that the speed of access to the disk on this laptop becomes an obstacle for heavy resource use. Indeed, this laptop offers a capacity of 1 TB HDD, but the performance of HDD is very less when compared to SSD. But if you don’t have the extra budget to buy a laptop with an SSD, this laptop is still suitable for your daily needs with a few adjustments if you want to use it for heavy resource usage.
